Folksy Secret Santa & Happy New Year!

A couple of months before Christmas I took part in the Secret Santa over on the Folksy forum.  I was lucky enough to receive this beautiful necklace made by Hamespun.  It included a lovely note explaining how this was a proto type for a necklace they were thinking of introducing into their line this year.  I felt doubly special now as I would be the first person to wear one!  So here it is....

This year I have lots of new ideas that I am itching to try out and I am hoping to fetch them to you at the end of Janary.  Alas, I need everyone back at work and school first so I can get cracking on them.  I have had a wonderful time off over Christmas and have really appreciated my time slobbing, watching films and just generally chilling.  So I would like to thank you all for following me and here is hoping that you all have a wonderful new year!  Ooh by the way I still have lots of sale goodies in my shop that I need to sell to make more room for lots of new creations!!

Last in Series White Rabbit oh my ears & whiskers how late!

So this is the last in the series of Alice characters and features the White Rabbit looking at his watch and saying oh my ears and whiskers how late, sounds like me in the morning!  All 3 are now available in my Folksy Or Etsy shop depending where you like to shop.

I have really enjoyed this series as it has kickstarted my machine embroidery mania again.  I have other ideas in the pipeline so you will have to wait and see!  Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Different shaped purse & Craft Fairs

ok so exciting news I have booked my first proper craft fair.  I did do a fund raiser last November, however, that was a joint effort with a friend, this one will be my first bona fide fair all on my own!  It is in Congleton in April and I have now got the bug to book a few more, however, that is where the problem is as I have asked in a few places about fairs in the North West and have had, ooooh let me count err no replies!  Also, the ones that are on are rediculous amounts for tables.  So if anyone knows of any fairs in the area any time this year please let me know.

So for todays make I have gone for simple shape purse, a lot easier to make than yesterdays.  It has also turned out a little bigger than I imagined so it could also double as a make up bag. 

Think I may have a couple of days off now as hubby has booked a couple of days off and as the kids are off I think I may have to escape for a while! Hope you all have a lovely week.

One A Day Challenge 1950's Inspired Tweed Bow Bag

I thought I was being tad keen promising to post this yesterday!  Anyhoo, better late than never here is today's  offering a Purple Tweed Bow Bag and it is going straight into my Folksy shop. Bows were really big in the 50's and have recently made a fashion comeback. 

For some reason whilst making this bag I was reminded of one of my favourite B&W films Noel Cowards A Brief Encounter, I don't know whether it was the tweed or the fact that I have been listening to chick flick soundtrack whilst sewing.  I feel like I should be sat in a railway cafe waiting for my gentleman friend and on that note I will leave you hope you all have a simply, super evening!

Day 19 Teeny Brown & Blue Bag!

Well I bit the bullet and cut into my lovely fabric stash and made this teeny handbag listed in my Folksy shop here.  What she lacks in size I think she more than makes up for in personality.  I love this colour combination and am of to make myself one!
