Continuing my creative mojo journey

So this is what I have been creating this week to continue with trying to regain my creative mojo.  First up is this cushion which is a variation on the patchwork that I have been experimenting with and which is the direction that I think I will go in as it is very addictive!

This is  a dresden plate design and has come out really well I was really pleased with this.  Also, it is fab for using up little scraps of lovely fabric you have left over which if you are like me you keep thinking ooh that will come in handy some day!

Next up is an album cover I made for my daughters friends birthday.  It was slightly infuriating trying to get the dimensions right, but again it has turned out really well, so album and journal covers maybe another area to explore.

Hope you have all had a lovely crafty week!

Getting up to date & trying to get back my creative mojo!

I have just logged in and found that my last blog post was in March, so if there is anyone still reading I apologise and thank you for sticking around!  The last few months have been quite hectic here what with one thing and another, time has slipped away, fast! I did go back to work briefly but unfortunately that did not work out as planned so I have been trying to get back my creativity, but that was harder than I had thought.  When you break your day to day routine, you just assume that you can go straight back to it, however, that did not happen.  For a while I sat at my sewing machine and thought that inspiration would strike, but alas it never came and the more that I thought about it the worse it became.

Eventually I thought that maybe I needed to explore different textile crafts and have been playing around with patchwork and art dolls.  The patchwork is ideal for those nights sat in front of the tv and also is useful for using up all those scraps of fabric that you do not want to part with as they will come in useful!

On finding this book in the library, I knew that I also knew that I had to give these a go as they looked beautiful,

I was inspired to make this one of my own.  I really enjoyed making the skirt as it combined fashion and textile art.

Anyway that is what I have been up to, so time to cut out more squares for patchwork, although I think I may get a little adventurous and try some hexagons!

Hope you are all well and thank you for reading! x

New Website!

Courtesy of my very talented brother in law, graphic designer extraordinaire I now have a very sparkly, new website.  After spending years working for others he has now at long last decided to set up his own business designing websites, logos and he is also a bit of a dab hand at designing for games.  If you would like to discuss him doing some work for you either a new website, update an existing one or even a new logo you can reach him via his Facebook page or email
